Game is commented by IM Vladimir Barsky
7th round

Today we decided to a have change: instead of one entire game we analyse some game’s fragments.

K.Sasikiran – D.Andreikin

32...Qc6
The only way to shake Black defence is to pull the pawns on King side. Black should have prevented it by: 32... Rf8! 33.h5 (33.Rxd6 Rxf2 + 34.Rxf2 Qxd6 or 33.f3 Rd8 34.Qg6 Qb4 gives nothing) 33... Rf6 34.Qd1 Ref7 35.f3 Qb4, and Black are successfully protected.

33.Qg6! Qd7 34.g4 Rf7 35.g5 hxg5 36.hxg5 Rf4
36...Qe8 was better, and White king is compelled to recede for the first line: 37.Kg1 Qe7 38.Qh5 Rf4 39.f3 Kf8. White press, but Black seems to be OK.

37.f3 Kf8 38.Kg3

38...Rf7?
Not maintaining the pressure. It was possible to balance after 38... Qe7 39.Rh2 Kg8! 40.Qh7 + (40.Rh7 Qf7; 40.Rd1 Qf7) 40... Kf8 41.Qh8 + Kf7 etc. Black position is very dangerous, however is difficult to be punched

39.Qh7 Ke8 40.g6 Rf8 41.Rxd6 Qxd6 42.Rxd6 Rxd6 43.Qxg7

Queen with pawns is much stronger than isolated Rooks.

43...Rd1
43...Rd3 44.Qxe5 Rfxf3+ 45.Kg4.

44.Qxe5 Rg1+ 45.Kf2 Rxg6 46.Qb8+ Ke7 47.Qc7+ Ke8 48.Ke3 e5 49.Qxe5+ Kd7 50.c5 bxc5 51.Qxc5 Rb8 52.Qd5+ Rd6 53.Qf7+ Kc6 54.f4 Rb4 55.f5 Rd1 56.Qe6+ Rd6 57.Qc8+ Kb6 58.Qc3 Rc6 59.Qd3 Kc7 60.Kf4 Rcb6 61.Qd5 Rxb3 62.Qxa5 Rb1 63.Ke5 Rc1 64.f6 Rcc6 65.f7 Re6+ 66.Kd4. Black resigns.

E.Inarkiev – I.Kurnosov

1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 g6 3.g3 Bg7 4.Bg2 d5 5.0-0 0-0 6.c4 dxc4 7.Na3 c3 8.bxc3 c5 9.Qb3 Nc6 10.Rd1 Na5 11.Qb2 Qb6 12.Ne5

There is a typical situation for Grunfeld Defense: White press the centre, Black hope to use the overweight on Queen side.

12...Nd7?!
The main goal for Black - to develop Queen side, not having lost thus a pawn b7. Probably, it was easier to play 12... Qxb2 13.Bxb2 Be6 with good chances for the equation.

13.Nac4 Nxc4 14.Nxc4 Qa6?!
Here again it made sense to exchange Queens - 14... Qxb2 15.Bxb2 Nb6. However, after 16.Na5 the White keep small pressure

15.Ne3 Nb6 16.a4 cxd4?
It seems a solving error, after 16... Qa5!? Black could defend, though their position not good

17.cxd4 Bd7 18.a5 Na4 19.Qb4
Nа4 has got to a trouble. Besides, Black’s pawns are under fight.

19...Qxe2
After 19...Qb5 20.Ba3 Qxb4 21.Bxb4 Black lose a material.

20.Rxa4 Bxa4 21.Qxa4 Rad8 22.Ba3 Qa2 23.Bxb7 Bxd4 24.Rxd4

24...Qb1+?
Последний зевок. Следовало вначале разменять ладьи – 24...Rxd4 25.Qxd4 Qb1+ 26.Qd1 Qxb7, но и здесь после 27.Nd5 черным плохо (27…Rd8? 28.Nf6+).

Last mistake. Black should have exchanged Rooks at first - 24... Rxd4 25.Qxd4 Qb1 + 26.Qd1 Qxb7, but after 27.Nd5 Black is bad (27 … Rd8? 28.Nf6 +)

25.Qd1
Black resigns.

F.Amonatov – A.Gabrielian

Opponents have played Vinavera system in French defense. Having searched the overweight, White lost three pawns. To a victory in a position on the diagram conducted - 55... Kb8 or 55... Ka7. And 55... Qh5? lost because of 56.Rh8! Why? We’ll see:

55...Rh4? 56.Qxc8+!!
Unexpectedly!

56…Rxc8 57.Rxc8+ Qb8
It is necessary to return a Queen. On 57... Ka7 would follow effective 58.Nc6 +! bxc6 59.Rf7 +, with a mate

58.Rxb8+ Kxb8 59.Rf8+ Ka7 60.Kxg3

And White realised the piece:

60...Rh1 61.Rf7 Kb8 62.Nxe6 Ra1 63.Kf2 Rxa5 64.Ke3 Rb5 65.Kd4 a5 66.Rf8+ Ka7 67.Nc7. Black resigns.
